High Intensity Interval Training

High Intensity Interval Training, commonly known as HIIT, is a type of exercise that burns calories quickly and helps you get into shape faster than most other exercises. The routine involves repetition of intense periods of exercise, typically about 10-60 seconds long, followed by an equally timed period of rest.

HIIT is a melting pot of multiple exercises. It combines weights with cardio, plyometrics, strength training, and stretching all into one. HIIT is so popular becasue of it's many benefits. It can be more efficient than other exercise programs; you'll burn more fat, you'll increase your metabolism, and you'll lose fat while gaining muscle. People love HIIT because it works for people of all fitness levels, you can do it anywhere and you don't always need equipment because a lot of the exercises use just your body weight. One more plus is that it's seriously challanging, so you'll have something to be proud of when you're done.

HIIT can be done on your own or taken in classes at your local gym. It is always a good idea to add exercise and movement into your daily routine, along with a healthy diet.
