It’s always a good idea to add exercise and movement into your daily routine. Exercising regularly can keep your heart, body and mind healthy. Exercise can also increase endorphins, which are what keep you happy. Breaking a sweat is the best way to keep your metabolism in check, and keep any excess weight off. Being overweight can lead to many other health issues down the road.
Gym memberships can be pricey and we all know the main excuse as to why people don't work out - they just don't have time. Enough with the excuses! All you need is 15 minutes to spare and you can get a great workout right in your living room.
Here are 3 exercises you can do at home to tone your arms, no weights or equipment required:
You might think of arm circles as more of a warm-up, but they can be much more than that. There are many variations of arm circles; forwards or backward, small, medium or large arm circles, and slow or fast circles - you can mix it up. Make sure to do this move with plenty of reps. You can also just hold your arms straight out to the side if the arm circle becomes too tiring.
Plank ups are not only a great arm exercise but a whole body workout as well. Start in a plank position with your elbows bent and forearms on the ground. One arm at a time, lift yourself up into push-up position and then back down to plank position. Repeat this move. For an extra challenge, hold the plank position for 30 seconds in between each set for full body strengthening.
To do an inchworm, keep your feet planted at about shoulder width. Keeping your legs straight, bend forward at your hips placing your hands on the ground in front of you as close to your feet as possible. Keep your feet planted and legs straight while walking your hands forward until you reach push-up position. From there, walk your hands back to your starting position. Repeat this move. Bonus: this exercise also works your core muscles!
